Updates on Holds in LINKcat

We appreciate your continued patience and goodwill as we work through the problems we've experienced in moving LINKcat to new software.

In the first few weeks, we received many questions about holds.  Here are some updates on fixes that were made to hold functionality:

  • Holds and Suspended Holds are now separate (fixed May 17)
  • Holds that are on the shelf for you now show the date they need to be picked up by (fixed early May). We are aware that holds notices by email still do not include a date for pickup, but we are working on restoring that to email notices.  Items sit on the holds shelf for seven days.
  • Holds canceled by mistake after the new system went live were restored (early May) and waiting lists on canceled holds were restored.  Please contact staff if you have questions about canceled holds or your priority on the list.
  • Your priority is available on your hold list, but the number of total holds is not visible.  We are working on restoring that, but it is not a top focus at the moment.

Our favorite new feature with holds? The ability to suspend a hold and set a "resume date" - no more remembering to go in and reactivate your holds when you come back from vacation!  Read more about placing and managing holds or watch two short videos showing you how.
