The Journey of Life: From Traditional to Abstract

The Journey of Life: From Traditional to Abstract
May & June art exhibit at Alicia Ashman Library

Madison local artists Yongjing Li, Siyi Lu, and Vina Yang started painting when they were young. They have had instruction from both famous Chinese artists and local artists. Their long journey started with traditional oriental painting, then expanded to western painting styles. Their work has continued to use Chinese pigments, watercolors, oils and acrylics to create traditional and contemporary styles of artwork. All the experimentation and exploration of multiple styles and mediums has led to the creation of many paintings with both oriental characteristics and modern aesthetic values. Currently, they are members of the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association/UW Program, Madison Art Guild and Chinese Fine Art Association.
