Public Hearings on the City Budget with Mayor Dave

Alicia

Join Mayor Dave Cieslewicz for public hearings on the City of Madison budget. Three meetings, two to be held at Madison Public Library locations, are planned for the month of August, prior to the introduction of the Mayor’s proposed 2010 capital and operating budgets.

The Mayor’s public budget hearings are set for:

  • Wednesday, August 5, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Central Library
  • Tuesday, August 11, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the East District Police Station (809 S. Thompson Dr.)
  • Monday, August 17, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Alicia Ashman Branch Library

“This is an important opportunity for Madisonians to make their voices heard on the city’s budget priorities for the coming year,” said Mayor Cieslewicz. “In today’s economic climate, it comes as no surprise that the city is facing a very challenging budget. Public input is extremely important to me as we work to protect services that are important to our citizens.”

The Mayor will introduce his capital budget on September 1 and his operating budget on October 6. The Common Council will hold hearings during the fall, with final action the week of November 9. For more information, visit http://www.cityofmadison.com/comp/budgetindex.htm.

Citizens unable to attend any of the Mayor’s budget meetings can also send their ideas and comments by email, mayor@cityofmadison.com.
