Madison Police Department officers are responding to increasing use of the internet for criminal activity with informational sessions about how you can keep yourself and your family safe when using the internet, cell phones, and social software such as MySpace and Facebook.  As part of this informational effort, officers are teaching four hands-on classes this week at various locations.  A few openings remain in two classes:

MySpace
Friday July 24th 6–8:30 p.m. at Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd.

Cell Phones and Text Messaging
Wednesday July 22, 6-8:30 p.m. at Alicia Ashman Library, 733 N. High Point Rd.

Registration is required.  Call Madison Police Department Sergeant June Groehler at (608) 266-4590 to register for either class or for more information.

There is still space in the MySpace workshop on Friday, July 24 at the Sequoya Branch. The Police Department will also be offering these classes again in October. Please call Sergeant June Groehler at (608) 266-4590 to register for Friday’s class or to indicate interest in receiving information about October’s classes.
