Celebrate the Second National Poem In Your Pocket Day on Thursday, April 30, 2009!

Join the Academy of American Poets in celebrating Poem In Your Pocket Day. The idea is simple: select a poem, carry it with you (poem in your pocket) and pass it along to family, friends, and coworkers throughout the day. Last year, people across the country unfolded poems and read them in parks, libraries, schools and workplaces.
Organize your own Poem In Your Pocket Day event this April. Share poems from the many collections available at the library, download and print poems from the pocket selections on Poets.org, or email a poem. For more celebration ideas and highlights visit poets.org/pocket.
