Outerlibrary Loan: New Name - Same Great Service!

Alicia

As of February 18th Madison Public Library will be using new software for requesting items not owned within the South Central Library System. This service, formerly known as Interlibrary Loan, is also getting a new name - Outerlibrary Loan (OLL).

Why the name change? To distinguish between those items obtained from libraries outside our system and those you have borrowed directly from libraries within our system (using LINKCat). Outerlibrary Loan items are those items obtained from libraries outside our 7 county South Central Library system.

The new software enables us to provide more information about your Outerlibrary Loan requests. For OLL requests placed after February 18th, you will be able to check the status of items and request renewals by phone or in person at any Madison Public Library.

If you prefer, you can continue to use our online Outerlibrary Loan Request Form. However, due to the nature of the new system, these requests may take longer to process than requests placed with library staff.
