Terry Tempest Williams at MMoCA

Alicia

Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art

Join the Wisconsin Book Festival as beloved author and scholar Terry Tempest Williams returns to Madison in celebration of the Wisconsin Humanity Council’s Wisconsin: Making It Home project. Terry will be presenting her latest book, Finding Beauty in a Broken World. Curt Meine, author of Aldo Leopold’s biography, will set the stage for what promises to be a moving and memorable evening.

A naturalist and fierce advocate for freedom of speech, Williams is the author of the environmental literature classic, Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place. Her other works include: An Unspoken Hunger: Stories from the Field, Desert Quartet, and The Open Space of Democracy.

In conjunction with the author’s talk, the Central Library will be hosting two open-forum Conversation Circles. The moderated discussions will provide space to reflect on the event and to express ideas, interests, and concerns about the planet we call home. Join us on Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m., or Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. for this free event.

See Terry Tempest Williams’ website for more information.
