Leaf Peeping and Pumpkin Patches The Banana Lady: As Strong as I Can Be!

Spooky October Fun for Kids and Families!

Alicia

Celebrate the start of the Halloween season with frighteningly fun events at your Madison Public Library! Learn the truth about bats at the Hawthorne Branch on Saturday, October 11, when Ken and Barbara Bowman (and bat friends) of Bat Conservation of Wisconsin present Bats Aren’t Really Blind (And They’re Not Scary, Either). On Saturday, October 18, David Stokes will entertain you with songs, stories, puppets, and live bats in The Bat Chorus: The Unhuggables at the Lakeview Branch.

Get in the spooky spirit at I’m Not Scared!: Stories and Songs of the Season with Stuart Stotts at the Hawthorne Branch on Thursday, October 30. Finally, kick off your Halloween weekend with songs and stories in English and Spanish at Dia de los Muertos with Claire Norell at the Alicia Ashman Branch on Friday, October 31 (registration required).

Check out our Autumn Activities page, too, for Halloween costume and pumpkin carving ideas, local apple and pumpkin farms, and more Autumn fun.
