How to Hard Boil an Egg
Hard boiled eggs are delicious to eat and a great source of many nutrients. One egg averages only 78 calories and is a very good source of selenium, iodine, vitamin B2, protein, phosphorous, vitamin B5, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. Some eggs also have added Omega-3 fatty acids, which aid in brain function as well as normal growth and development.
The wikiHow manual has very easy directions on how to hard boil eggs:
- Place eggs in a large saucepan. Cover them with cool water by 1 inch. Slowly bring water to a boil over medium heat; when the water has reached a boil, cover and remove from heat. Let sit 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and immediately chill the eggs by placing them under cold running water or in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Chill for a few minutes until the egg is completely cooled.
