Fire Prevention Week
“Practice Your Escape Plan!” is the theme of Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13. It’s not enough to have a home fire escape plan (PDF, 634 KB). To escape safely, you’ve got to make sure that everyone in the home has practiced the plan.
To kick-off Fire Prevention Week, more than 50 fire trucks from 30 fire departments
in Dane County will parade up State Street this Sunday, October 7th.
The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a display of the trucks at the Capitol Square until 3:00 p.m. The best viewing is in the 100-300 blocks of State Street. After the fire trucks are parked on the Square, firefighters will have free pencils, coloring books, badge stickers and fire safety information available to kids and their families.
