Introducing NoveList!

Already used in more than half of the libraries across the country, NoveList is now available to Madison residents through a cooperative purchase with South Central Library System (SCLS) libraries. Whether you’re trying to find the next book in a series, looking for the most popular English mysteries, or checking the availability of the latest Author Read-Alikes, NoveList should be your resource of choice.

You can use NoveList’s “Find a Favorite Author” feature to locate a list of John Grisham’s titles, then use one of these titles to find more than 200 other legal thrillers with the “Find Similar Books” feature. With the “Describe a Plot” search, you can search full-text reviews for “fast-paced” books that make good “read aloud” titles. And NoveList’s “Find a Series Name” search displays complete lists of series titles in reading order.  The Author Read-Alikes feature suggests additional authors or titles and includes brief descriptions of the author’s writing styles and the appeal factors that keep their fans coming back. Using NoveList, you can sort lists in multiple ways, including by author, title, publication year, relevance, and by popularity.

For added convenience, NoveList links seamlessly with LINKcat, the library’s online catalog.  Once you’ve found a title in NoveList, you can immediately determine which libraries own the book and whether it’s available for checkout.
