Help Us Kick Off the Sequoya Branch Library Expansion on January 28

Barb D.

As the Sequoya Branch celebrates 50 years this month, a family-friendly event is planned on Sunday, January 28 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.to kick off the Capital Campaign for the branch’s expansion into new space at a redeveloped Midvale Plaza.

seq-logo-final.gifThe day’s events feature Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, children’s activities, story-time readings by First Lady Jessica Doyle, honorary campaign chair, and local author Steven G. Kihm, reading his book The Lost Candy Bar; music by Atimevu Drum and Dance; program overview of the fund raising campaign and unveiling of donor pledges made to date, and light refreshments!

We are pleased to announce that the Hershey Company of Hershey, PA will be a special sponsor for the event.  As Steven Kihm has featured the company’s product in his book, the company will be contributing a case of Hershey’’s candy bars for the Kick-Off Event.  Chocolate will be available for adults and children alike!

Meet members of the Capital Campaign Committee, Madison Public Library Board and Madison Public Library Foundation, Friends of Sequoya, representatives of the Hilldale Merchants Group, as well as some of our very generous donors.  We hope to see you there!
