Newbery and Caldecott Awards Announced
Congratulations to Susan Patron, this year’s Newbery Award winning author for The Higher Power of Lucky. The Newbery is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children. Congratulations also to David Wiesner, this year’s Caldecott Award winning artist for Flotsam, the most distinguished
American picture book for children. Awards were announced at the ALA Midwinter Meeting this morning. For a full list of award winners, refer to the ALA website.
