Happy Children's Book Week! (May 1-May 7) Join us in celebrating the beauty of children's literature by stopping by our upcoming events and voting for the Children's Choice Book Awards.  
 
Read to a Dog
It's Children's Book Week! Stop by Central Library on Thursday, May 4, from 2:00-3:00pm to Read With a Dog. Bring a favorite book (or find one of the Children's Choice Book Award nominees at the library!) and read aloud to a furry friend. Time slots available on a first come, first served basis in the lower level study rooms.
 
Everyone's a Hero!
Stop in to the children's room of Central Library on Saturday, May 6, from 10:00 am - 2:00pm to craft a mask and cape and try your hand at drawing comics. Want to change the world? Start the Reading Without Walls challenge today at the library!
 
Free Comic Book Day

If you love comic books, then May 6 is your lucky day! Go to any Madison Public Library from 9:00am - 5:00pm to receive a free, kid-friendly, comic book of your very own! Stay and check out some of our comics and graphic novels or participate in HeroCon. Then visit local comic book stores that are participating in Free Comic Book Day 2017.
