Summer mysteries I'm looking forward to reading [part 1]
Jane started the beach ball rolling with her post, Feeling hot, hot, hot (Summer Reading Lists are Here). Summer is a time to relax and catch up with old friends, both real and fictional. So I thought that I would share some of the mysteries that I am looking forward to reading this summer. Since there are quite a few, I divided it into three parts.
- The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken by Tarquin Hall [7/10]
setting: Modern India
character: Indian detective Vish Puri - The Dark Monk: A Hangman’s Daughter Tale [6/12]
setting: 1660 Bavaria
character: hangman Jakob Kuisl and his daughter Magdalena - Gone Missing by Linda Castillo [6/19]
setting: Amish Country
character: Police chief Kate Burkholder - A Room Full of Bones by Elly Griffiths [7/3]
setting : Norfolk, England
character: forensic archaeologist Ruth Galloway - The Skeleton Box: A Starvation Lake Mystery by Bryan Gruley [6/5]
setting: Starvation Lake
character: newspaper editor Gus Carpenter - Size 12 and Ready to Rock by Meg Cabot 7/10
setting: NYC
character: former child rock star & now assistant residence hall director Heather Wells
That's my first batch complete. Anything you're looking forward to? I'd be happy to hear which mysteries are on your lists for reading this summer.
