celebutantesimgAttention fans of Tinseltown and Oscar Week:  celebrate the Academy Awards twice this year!

Celebutantes by Amanda Goldberg (daughter of producer Leonard Goldberg) and Ruthanna Khalighi Hopper (daughter of Easy Rider Dennis Hopper) depicts the fictional account of Lola Santisi (daughter of a famous movie director and former model) making her way around Hollywood as an ambassador for up-and-coming fashion designer Julian Tennant the week prior to and immediately after her father wins his second Academy Award.

The faces and places, attitudes and excesses are pure A-List.  Because Lola is Hollywood royalty, she runs with an elite crowd and visits all of the best haunts.  Her invite to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party is at an enviable time.   Her clothing, accessories, shoes and cosmetics are top of the line and so of the moment they read like the latest issue of InStyle. Life looks great for Lola on the surface, but in reality, she keeps getting involved with actors who break her heart, spends half of her time in therapy trying to resolve her issues with her father and suffers from severe career chaos.

Will Lola finally find a nice guy?  Will she land a big name to wear one of Julian’s fabulous Oscar gowns?  Will the evil Prada ambassador get what she deserves?

Reading Celebutantes is like eating your favorite candy:  not necessarily nutritious but absolutely delicious.  Lots of name dropping, scenarios that may or may not have been “ripped from the headlines” and a real insider’s view make this novel entertaining and au courant.
