If the title above makes you call out ‘Big Lebowski!’ you must checkout I’m a Lebowski, You’re a Lebowski: Life, the Big Lebowski, and What Have You!
You know how some books are published just to maximize some pop culture phenomena and are so obviously milking it and super lame? (I’m thinking of one of the Sex and the City books I bought and never actually read.) This is NOT that kind. The creators of this fine tome are the 4 ‘Founding Dudes’ of Lebowski Fest. And they are funny and exhaustive in their love of all things Lebowski. Interviews with Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and John Tuturro? Check. List of ordinary english phrases that can be translated into Dude-speak? Check. Map of Pasedena area ATM machines? Check.
I can’t believe it… but I pretty much read this book cover to cover. And lemme tell ya, though I love the Big Lebowski and have certainly seen it 15+ times, it is the massive amount of background and insider knowledge that made this book transend ordinariness. Turns out the Coen brothers used real friends and acquaintances and their stories as inspiration for huge parts of the film, and pretty much all of them are interviewed lengthily here. (Even the real Little Larry, Jaik Freeman, who really did leave his homework in the backseat of a stolen car.) If you love the Big Lebowski, these interviews are a goldmine.
New sh*t has come to light, courtesy of I’m a Lebowski, You’re a Lewbowski: Life, The Big Lebowski and What Have You, and I couldn’t be happier.

Unquestionably Jeff Bridges’s finest hour, man.
