Another bummer book

include("adsense.php"); ?>Man, I like depressing books. Are there others like me out there? At least one… as a friend recommended this engrossing novel.
Aftermath by Brian Shawver explores the why and what next of a brutal brawl in a restaurant parking lot amongst teens from competing high schools. This Pennsylvania small town has a private Catholic school where the rich kids go, and a townie school. When a ringleader boy from the rich kids school is beaten so badly he now operates at a 4 year old level, even his mother views this as a mixed blessing, as he was that unlikeable. That’s just one of many moral complexities in this novel that drew me in and gripped me until the end.

I’m always reading bummer books too. Each time I write a review, I realize it’s another one on grief. Why is that????
