Catch up with Cormac

Cormac McCarthy is all over these days. He was recently on Oprah and the film version of No Country for Old Men, directed by the Coen Brothers, was an official selection at Cannes.
If you don’t want to wait on the list for The Road, some of McCarthy’s older titles have a shorter waiting list, or none at all. Reading Blood Meridian is like walking down a dark path, and the only thing that lights your way are acts of violence. Besides Blood Meridian and No Country for Old Men, I’ve also read the first two-thirds of The Border Trilogy, All the Pretty Horses and The Crossing. They’re both pretty good. Out of those two, the first part of The Crossing, in which the main character returns a wolf to its home, is especially gripping.
