Wanna be a genius?
February 26th, 2007 Sarah - Alicia Ashman
include("adsense.php"); ?>Have you always dreamed of being a genius? Your dream is about to come true. You, yes you, can be a genius: all you need to do is read Mental Floss: The Genius Instruction Manual, published by the lovely (and oh so erudite) editors at mental_floss magazine.
If you’re thinking this book is your standard “factoid” collection, don’t. Not only is it chock full of fun facts (Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Edgar Allan Poe, and Lewis Carroll all married their cousins), but the writing displays a special (and funny) genius all its own. As the editors state in the introdution:
“A few months ago, the mental_floss staff got into a discussion of how we might save the world…And then, one day, it occurred to us: What this world needs is more geniuses. And so we decided to create a single, slim volume that would make its readers brilliantly, searingly smart. Surely this book would change the world for the better. And also sell a lot of copies.” (p. xi.)
So go ahead. Check out your copy and become a genius today!
