New series, oh how we love them!

include("adsense.php"); ?>Mystery author William Tapply has a long running series featuring Brady Coyne, a lawyer and amateur sleuth in Boston whose real love is fishing.
Now he has started a new series that I enjoyed even more
than the Coyne books. The first title, Bitch Creek, features Stoney Calhoun, who has a mysterious past; he knows he was hit by lightning and that has affected his long term memory. He apparently had a government job and from what he can remember, he was an investigator of some sort.
After recovering from his injuries, Stoney relocated to rural Maine and started working in Kate Balaban’s bait shop. He built a home on Bitch Creek. And it is that project that connects him with Lyle, a personable young man who becomes a fishing guide and is Stoney’s best friend. When Lyle is murdered, Stoney is devastated and convinced it is his fault.
The mystery is solved - the ending is the only weak part of the book - and I look forward to the sequel coming out soon (Gray Ghost). We will no doubt learn more about Stoney’s past. And I can’t wait to see how his relationship with Kate develops.
