Ultimate teen vampire books
Teens and Vampires. Two very misunderstood groups of people who go together wonderfully in a new series by author Stephenie Meyer. The first book in this series Twilight introduces us to Bella, a teenage girl that has just moved back to the sleepy town of Forks, Washington to live with her divorced town sheriff father. Bella soon becomes friends with the Cullens, a family in town that no one quite knows or understands. Except the native american folks in town who have some theories about these perfect pale residents. Yep, you guessed it they are vampires. Of course Bella falls in love with one of them, Edward, and this first book explores their new relationship and all the problems that come along with falling in love with someone that has eternal life when you don’t.
The follow up to this novel is New Moon, which begins with Edward’s monumental decision
to leave Forks and try to get Bella out of his life. Does it work? What happens to Bella when her true love leaves town to be a full-time vampire elsewhere? Stephenie Meyer has a very extensive website with back stories for all her characters and already this series has legions of fans. Read ‘em both and find out all about Bella and Edwards tragic love affair. Any other suggestions for a vampire book you couldn’t live without?

I really loved Robin McKinley’s book Sunshine. According to Neil Gaiman it’s “A gripping, funny, page-turning, pretty much perfect work of magical literature.” For a series that’s darkly funny, mysterious and romantic try Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse books. The first is Dead Until Dark.

Thanks so much for this great recommendation! I was actually happy my hubby went out last Friday so i could finish reading it. I may have to bypass the holds list and actually purchase the sequel…

I love your books. Are there going to be other books with Edward and Bella to continue their adventures. Hope so. These books are so realistic. When ever I start to read I feel like I am actually in the book and is part of the story. I just purchased your new book New Moon. I love it already.

I love love love these books. I love books in general and love anything having to do with vampires, but Stephenie Meyer’s books are on my top 10 list. Currently pushing into the top 5.
Edward is a girl’s dream come true. Bella is the perfect hero. (I’d put the female form of the word but I’m not exactly sure how to spell it.) One of the great things about this book is that Bella isn’t a goth. You don’t have to be goth or a vampire lover to read this. It’s love story. Edward is to Romeo as Bella is to Juliet. Only they are better. I won’t explain why they are better (it would take far too long), just know that they are.
There are more books to come in this series. Personally I can’t wait. There may also be a movie. And as someone who frequents Stephenie’s site often, I can tell you now that the future of this series is bright.

At first, it was one of my good friends that had told me to read this book (Twilight). She was always saying that she was totally in love with Edward and that the storie was amazingly addictive! Well, i bought it (something i usually never do) and read the book in two days!!!(Hihihi! Edward, i wish you existeD!) I always found a displeasure reading books and especially fantasy ones. I take all that back now, thanks to these super books (New moon that i also read in 2 day!) I really can’t wait for the third book to come out!
ANYWAYS, A ZILLION HATS ARE OFF FOR MS. STAPHANIE MEYER!!!

i lovve theses books i read the 1st one in 4 days i was so addicted and i am totally in love with edward!
31. her | March 2nd, 2007 at 3:02 pm
They are amazing. Both of them. Twilight was captivating and I was never once able to put New Moon down. Im going insane waiting for the third one, Eclipse, to come out. I honestly didn’t think i’d like it, as it was recomended to me by a somewhat unreliable sorce, but i was proved INCREDIBALLY wrong. The series is flawless. Except for the part about Edward being a fictional character. That sucks.
And i find myself becoming strangely defensive every time i hear my friend say thet she loves Edward Cullen. Its obvious as to why, he is the essence of perfection after all. But still. It just makes it worse knowing that that boy is not real. Sadsad.
32. Rebecca | March 3rd, 2007 at 7:41 pm
I think I am 1 of the few people who has read the books and not fallen in love with Edward…

God my lijf sux wen i compare it to this book. The only thing i look forward in everyday is reading Twilight and new moon over and over again.

45. Isabella Evans | March 23rd, 2007 at 3:46 pm
I love EDWARD CULLEN so much. I have literely grown attached to him. I think about him everyday and all the time. I liked your book the New Moon, but I liked Twilight better because Edward was in it a lot more than he was for New Moon. They were both great, though! I can’t wait to get the third book Eclipse. i am so excited! I hope that Edward is in the book alot, but I will still read it. I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN! I WISH I WAS BELLA! SHE IS SO LUCKY! I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO HAVE HIM! ANYWAY, KEEP ON WRITING STEPHENIE MEYER!
46. Coop | March 27th, 2007 at 4:46 pm

47. BreAnne | March 28th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
These are my all-time favorite books. oh and yes there are going to be more books after new moon, the third comes out Auguats 7th (I CANT WAIT), and the fourth is Breaking Dawn which comes out next year. Stephenia Meyer is having a book signing in May in Arizona.
oh and did i mention that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these books. Why do they have to take so long to come out, me and my freinda are DIEING to read Eclipse. We went to her book signing when New Moon came out and bought the books there and we read them the next day and they are a YEAR apart. I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.
48. BreAnne | March 28th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
Oh and i forgot to mention that they are in the process of buying the rights from Stephenie and they are taking forever. I hope that they do make it, but i hope they dont change ANY of it.
49. Adrienne | March 30th, 2007 at 3:27 pm
These are the best books on the planet!!!! Stephenie Meyer is a genious! I can’t wait for Eclipse to come out(August 7!! yea)!
50. Vampirate | April 2nd, 2007 at 6:47 pm
I love Twilight and New Moon! I can’t wait until Eclipse comes out!
Though I LOVE Edward, it’s a little strange that one can love a fictional character soooooo much! Stephenie Meyer is one of my favorite authors. I hope I will be as good as her one day!!!!!!
(For the heck of it… I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
51. Christa | April 3rd, 2007 at 2:50 pm
It is true, these books are fantastic. There are a few things i want to comment on though,
New Moon is definitely my favorite, because even though Bella and Edward aren’t together most of the book, it is much more realistic and interesting to not have Bella fawning over Edward 24/7. Truthfully, by the end of the book I was rooting for Jacob Black.
I can’t wait for Eclipse to come out, but I’m nervous about what the topic will be on…AGHH.
Anyway,
THESE BOOKS ARE REALLY GOOD.
52. Lindsey Morse | April 7th, 2007 at 11:28 am
Twilight and New Moon are the best books I ever read! Before I ever read these books I thought you could not get so addictive________ I was realy wrong. I cant wait untill Eclipse comes out!
53. Tara | April 7th, 2007 at 8:55 pm
It’s really hard to explain how good these books really are, I finished them both in only two days, but now I’m kicking myself internally because now I have to wait forever for Eclipse to come out! I think it’s pretty safe to say that any girl who reads this will fall madly in love with Edward Cullen (this including myself) XD
54. kate | April 15th, 2007 at 12:34 pm
I finished reading Twilight yesterday, and am currently in a state of depression because Edward doesn’t exist, and I am literally IN LOVE with him. I want him to exist SOOOOOOO badly. I seriously SERIOUSY wish I was Bella…she is SO LUCKY! After reading this book, I feel like my life SUCKS.
I WANT EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
55. Samantha Railey | May 11th, 2007 at 8:21 am
I LOVE Stephenie Meyer’s work! I’ve never been one to read thick books, but I read Twilight in one day! I literally stayed up all night long reading that book! I started reading at like 9:00PM and up the book down at 5:00AM to get a bath and get ready for school. Even afterwards, I still picked up the book and started reading again! New Moon was awesome, too! The only part I didn’t like was that Edward was away during over half of the book. I seriously suffered from Edwarddepfravation, sorry can’t spell.I can’t wait for Eclipse or THE MOVIE!!!!!!!!They seriously need to publish Midnight Sun. It’ll go flying off the selves. What girl doesn’t want to hear Edward’s opinion!?
56. Tori | May 16th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Oh gosh I saw a couple of girls reading this book at school and i decided i should try it….Well I just LOVED the book and this may sound wierd but i actually read twilight in ONe day One and im Just dying to get the rest of it.
57. amanda | July 18th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
I LOVE THIS SERIES! stephenie meyer is a genius, i wish edward was a real person and hope hope hope that they’ll make twilight into a movie, as long as they get good actors/actresses for the roles. i read new moon twice and twilght 4 or 5 times, i’m now addicted to vampire novels.
58. Devon | August 11th, 2007 at 5:31 pm
I love all tree books but are you going to make another one so poeple actually know how bella and edward actually turn out and how bella goes through the transformation and stuff it made me soo mad when i read the end of eclipse cause i needed to know more! But other then that i loved it :]
59. Iliana | October 8th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
I just got into the whole Stephanie Meyer phenomenon and I’m amazed that someone finally wrote a book that I’ve been wanting written. My friends and I all finished the three books in 3 days and went without sleeping for a while, the problem now is we’re obsessed. I know that Steph is writing two more books one a sequel for Eclipse and another one from Edwards point of view. My question is- will the new book be a continuation of Bella’s story or will it be more focused on Jacob? The way the Epilogue ended it was more about Jacob.. I love him but that would be a real bummer. Does anyone have any idea? I would love feedback from fans!
60. jackeline pagan | October 31st, 2007 at 2:52 pm
I also wondering what will happen to Bella and Edward. i which they would get married . i wich EDWARD WOULD TURN HER and after all of this I wich Shephenie meyer keep writtin about BELLA and EDWARD adventures, and love conection that woulpd make me so happy
61. Tana | November 13th, 2007 at 10:18 pm
Iliana, don’t know if the new book will be more about Bella or Jacob, but you can find the rough draft of the first chapter of the book from Edward’s point of view (Midnight Sun) at posted on her web site.
