Need a little extra help or just looking to get ahead? Here are some tutoring options in the Madison area.

School- and Community-based Tutoring

Many area schools have after-school homework clubs or other tutoring options. Begin your tutor search by talking with your student’s teacher or school counselor. Your school may have a list of peer tutors, paid adult tutors, Schools of Hope volunteer tutors, or tutoring options at neighborhood centers close to your school.

Free Tutoring Resources

Madison Writing Assistance
UW-Madison service through The Writing Center can assist older students with writing assistance and feedback. PreCOVID, these sessions were held in Madison libraries, now they're online.  Register for a free appointment.

MMSD Volunteer Tutor Connection
Free tutor connections for as-needed help for grades 6-12.  Not managed by MMSD.

Local tutoring center featuring math, science, reading and writing tutoring and ACT prep.

Mathnasium
Face to face and online math tutoring for K-12 through a national chain with a west Madison location.

Raise the Grade Tutoring
K-12 tutoring in a variety of subjects.

Sylvan Learning
Preschoolers through those in 12th grade can get help in a variety of subjects (including test prep).
