Dear Madison Public Library Outerlibrary Loan User,
Outerlibrary loan services are gaining in popularity. Library staff wishes to provide equitable service to an ever-increasing number of first time users as well as maintain the quality of service regularly provided for all outerlibrary loan use.
After studying use patterns to determine what would allow a broad base of service with current staffing and budget, the decision was made to change the total number of requests processed to 50 requests per year per patron starting January 1, 2006. This limit applies only to traditional outerlibrary loans, i.e. items that cannot be found in LINKcat. Please plan your future outerlibrary loan activity with this change in mind.
If you need to augment your research needs you may wish to consider obtaining an annual fee card from the UW Memorial Library. This card will allow you checkout privileges at all UW Madison campus libraries, including the State Historical Society Library (for more information go to http://memorial.library.wisc.edu/circinfo.htm#dep).
You may continue to submit requests using the online form. You can also call any Madison Public Library location and a librarian will be happy to assist you with your outerlibrary loan requests.
