Libraries Closed for Winter Holidays

All Madison Public Library locations will be closed for the New Year on Thursday, December 31 & Friday, January 1 (also Sunday, January 3).

You may drop items off in our book drops or use LINKcat to place holds, check your library card, or renew items. The library's databases  and downloadable audiobooks and eBooks will be accessible with your library card while we're closed.

New Gadget Clinics

So You've Got a New eReader/Tablet/Smartphone/Laptop...

Bring your own device for hands on help at our New Gadget Clinics.

  • Monday, January 4, 6:30-8pm at Central Library
  • Tuesday, January 5, 6:30-8pm at Alicia Ashman Library
  • Monday, January 12, 6:30-8pm at Central Library
  • Tuesday, January 13, 6:30-8pm at Sequoya Library

Get help configuring settings and learn how to download eBooks from the library. First come, first serve on a drop-in basis.

Some requirements: you must know how to access your web-based email account and many services require your personal information (credit card, Amazon account, Apple ID, etc).

 

Winter/Spring Library Kidspages

Check out the library activities for children and families this winter/spring with the online version of Winter/Spring Kidspages.

Print copies are available at a library near you, or print your own from our web site - English (Spanish language version coming soon).

Library Book Sales

 

Support your favorite library and one of many Friends' groups by selecting great deals at one of six upcoming book sales hosted by Libary Friends' groups before the end of the year.

 

  • Friends of Sequoya Library Book Sale - Saturdays, January 2 & 16, 9am-4pm at Westgate Mall (422 Westgate Mall, Madison 53711)
    Thousands of books for sale each month. Most books are donations, some library withdrawls also for sale. Nonfiction titles are sorted by category for easy browsing. Fiction titles for all ages! CD and DVD selections as well. Bag sale (on selected items) starts at 2 pm.
