A new collection developed by the Madison Public Library - Alicia Ashman Branch and sponsored by a grant from the Madison Community Foundation.

About the Comics & Anime Collection

The Alicia Ashman Branch recognizes the growing demand and respect for graphic novels and anime. Thanks to a generous grant from the Madison Community Foundation, we are able to offer a collection of the newest and most important, influential and interesting comics and graphic novels, as well as programming and events including film screenings, drawing classes and more.

Support your favorite collections with a donation to the Madison Public Library Foundation! Designate a gift to a specific branch or collection when you donate online (fill in the branch or collection in the "In honor of" box). Or, mail your contribution to:

Anime at the Library

The Ashman Anime Club was created to give people a place to gether, watch, and talk about Japanese animation. Each meeting includes screenings of everything from classic titles to new releases.

Madison Community Foundation

The Madison Community Foundation has supported Dane County’s public library system with over $5 million in donations for collections, programs and capital campaigns since 2000, including a total of 27 collection grants awarded to Madison and Dane County Libraries.

“It’s simple - great libraries make great communities. We continue to support this wonderful asset and are thrilled to see the collections grow and be shared so widely across the county,” says Kathleen Woit, President of the Madison Community Foundation.

Madison Community Foundation encourages, facilitates and manages long-term philanthropy. Since 1942, the foundation staff has helped people realize their philanthropic goals, allowing them to support charitable interests anywhere in the world.
