Reception for Thursday's Artists

Sequoya Library
03/04/2017
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Meet the talented artists of the Thursday Artists Group and enjoy refreshments in this afternoon meet & greet.  Their exhibit, MELANGE, will be on display at Sequoya Library from March 1 through April 30.

Thursday’s Artists
We are a group of women who love to draw and paint. We started meeting more than ten years ago and continue to meet weekly. During the summer months we meet at outdoor settings and in inclement weather meet at each other’s homes or other indoor locations. We have had on average two shows a year at libraries, coffee shops, and other venues. Each of us is inspired by the others and occasional critiques. We plan our meetings every three months and keep in touch with emails. This is a devoted group and on average we get 8- 12 artists every week.

Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable

Sequoya Library
03/06/2017
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for this presentation at the Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Blvd., on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 6:00 pm dealing with the intersection of fear, vulnerability, and freedom. Fear shows up in our lives in a variety of ways and often, stops us from living the lives we really want. Through this interactive workshop, we will explore what role fear plays in our lives and begin to rework our relationship with it so we can begin to embrace our authentic selves, be comfortable with vulnerability and live a life with limitless potential. Kyira Hauer worked for the National Alliance on Mental Illness for four years and is currently finishing her degree in Counseling Psychology.
