In the 3D Character Animation workshop you will learn the basics of animating a CGI Character using Autodesk Maya, the main animation program used by nearly all major video game and film studios - from Pixar and Warner Brothers to Nintendo and Blizzard. Attendees will learn Maya from a professional 3D Animator while creating their own high quality 3D Animations. Attendees are encouraged to bring a USB compatible storage device (portable hard drive or flash drive) to save their work.

REGISTRATION IS FULL: The Hip Hop Architecture Camp’s mission is to expose youth to architecture, urban planning and economic development through the lens of hip hop culture, while simultaneously aligning with The City of Madison Planning Department’s mission to gather and use opinions of each and every Madisonian to update the City’s Twenty Year Comprehensive Plan. The Hip Hop Architecture Camp will focus on high school aged youth, who in twenty years are projected to be the leaders of The City of Madison, living in the visions of today’s Comprehensive Plan.

Looking to be a part of a friendly writing community? Open to writers of all levels, this winter the Bubbler will be hosting three consecutive all-genre workshops that will culminate in our very first Bubbler literary publication. These workshops will be led by some of Madison’s brightest minds and will keep your creative flame alive throughout our darkest months!

Each workshop is free with advance registration. We encourage you to register and attend all consecutive sessions from November to February, but it is not mandatory. You’re also welcome to attend just the portion of the club that appeals most to you. Registration is open and will remain open for the span of all three workshops.

Join Bubbler artist-in residence, Jenie Gao as she embarks on the second part of her residency. Throughout the month of February Jenie will hold group sewing days for community members to stop in and help with the construction of larger-than-life fabric birds. These birds will be made from donated clothing and fabric items and hang in the children's area of Central Library when completed.

Please bring your own sewing machine if possible.

On Wednesday evening our lab is staffed by Demetrius with expertise in animation and video composition and Matt with expertise in video editing.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

In the 3D Character Animation workshop you will learn the basics of animating a CGI Character using Autodesk Maya, the main animation program used by nearly all major video game and film studios - from Pixar and Warner Brothers to Nintendo and Blizzard. Attendees will learn Maya from a professional 3D Animator while creating their own high quality 3D Animations. Attendees are encouraged to bring a USB compatible storage device (portable hard drive or flash drive) to save their work.

This class is staffed by Media Lab Instructor Nate, with expertise in film production, editing, animation, game design, and digital art.

Open to writers of all levels, this winter the Bubbler will be hosting three consecutive all-genre workshops that will culminate in our very first Bubbler literary publication. These workshops will be led by some of Madison’s brightest minds and will keep your creative flame alive throughout our darkest months!

Each workshop is free with advance registration. We encourage you to register and attend all consecutive sessions from November to February, but it is not mandatory. You’re also welcome to attend just the portion of the club that appeals most to you. Registration is open and will remain open for the span of all three workshops.

Attendees can bring their own footage or use stock footage provided by the Media Lab. Attendees are encouraged to bring a thumb drive or hard drive to save their work, and headphones for editing audio.
