Embodied Drawing

Embodied Drawing

Bubbler, Central Library
05/01/2017
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

In this workshop participants will explore drawing as contemplative practice, with particular emphasis on embodied awareness. The workshop will braid the use of mindfulness of the body, recognizing discursive/evaluative thinking, trusting natural patterning, fun, and expressiveness for artistic exploration and enjoyment. You could say we will be leaning towards 'drawing what the hand wants to draw'. This workshop will be facilitated by Devin Coogan, who is an artist, social worker, and mindfulness instructor from Santa Fe, NM. Register by calling 266-6350 or online.

This event is part of Library as Retreat Space, May 1 - May 7, 2017. Presented in partnership with the Bubbler, and funded by a gift from Marvin J. Levy. The Bubbler is funded by a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services.
