The online Morningstar Investment Research Center features up-to-date information about over 23,000 mutual funds and 7,000 stocks. The library version of the database offers access to many popular Premium features of Morningstar.com, including research and independent opinions on thousands of mutual funds, stocks, and exchange-traded funds, and also the same concise reports that are found in the printed Morningstar Mutual Funds. Visit Value Line's website for online subscriber access to their popular ratings & reports, selection & opinion newsletters, and more. The Investment Survey products include the Standard Edition, the Small and Mid-Cap Edition, the Plus Edition, and their Special Situations Service. Value Line Investment Survey-Small and Mid-Cap Edition. Value Line Publishing, New York.
1,800 additional stocks appear in this service reflecting small and mid-cap companies. There is a description of each company, statistical data, and “Performance Ranks” but there is not an analyst’s report. Available at Alicia Ashman, Central, Sequoya.

Value Line Special Situations. Value Line Publishing, New York. Biweekly.
This service is published for the aggressive investor willing to take on a higher level of risk. Value Line analysts look for “emerging companies”—companies that are small and fast growing and have long term capital gains potential. Available at Central.

Presents financial information on 7,000 issues--common and convertible preferred stocks, closed-end funds and mutual funds. A ranking is provided for common stocks which reflects past performance of earning and dividends. Available at Central.

Standard and Poor’s Bond Guide. Standard and Poor’s Corporation, New York. Monthly.
Provides statistical data on 6,800 domestic corporate bonds and 320 convertible bonds with a Standard and Poor’s credit rating for most corporate bonds. Available at Central.

Barron’s: The Dow Jones Business and Financial Weekly. Dow Jones, New York. Weekly.
Barron’s provides business and financial information for investors with articles about recent economic and business trends along with financial tables for stocks, bonds, mutual funds etc. It is a time-honored newspaper. Available at all locations except Monroe Street and South Madison.

Investor’s Business Daily. Investor’s Business Daily Inc., Los Angeles. Monday-Friday.
Launched in 1984 by William O’Neil this newspaper offers articles analyzing company and industry activity along with market quotes. According to O’Neil, “buy outstanding companies with the strongest earnings.” Available at Central.

Wall Street Journal. Dow Jones and Company, New York. Monday-Saturday.
The Wall Street Journal is a primary resource for the financial markets—stocks, currency trading, commodities etc. There are national and international news features along with articles on business, management, investment and personal finance. Available at all library locations and online via the ProQuest newspaper article database.

Personal money management is the subject of this magazine. There are articles on consumer spending, investing and financial planning. Available at all locations except South Madison and online via the EBSCO magazine database.

SmartMoney: The Wall Street Journal of Personal Business. Hearst Communications and Dow Jones, New York. Monthly.
