Will there be a new Central Library? When will the new Sequoya be open?

Frequent stories covering library expansion have people asking us questions. Here's what we know about upcoming library expansion projects in the City of Madison.

The Library Board is in the process of updating Facilities Planning documents to direct the library's future growth. Below are some of the usage maps the Library Board is considering, and some of the library expansion projects currently in various stages of consideration.

Project updates (August 2008)

The outer building for the Sequoya Library is nearly complete, and work is beginning on the interior. The library may open as early as the Fall of 2008. See photos of the construction.

Grandview Commons Neighborhood

Project updates (April 2008)

Veridian Homes has donated land in the Grandview Commons neighborhood and funding toward the project. This is one of the proposals the Library Board will be considering in future months.
